FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers. If something here doesn’t cover your question, the About page may.
- How do I import my collection?
- From any collection page, paste a list of card names, drop in a ManaBox or Moxfield CSV export, or paste rows directly. The parser handles the four most common formats and resolves names against Scryfall in the background.
- Does the composer guarantee a legal deck?
- Yes — every card the composer picks is checked against the commander's color identity and the Commander banlist. If you don't own enough cards in a category to hit the target (lands, ramp, draw, removal), the deck includes a "Missing X Slot" placeholder so you can see the gap rather than a smaller-than-100 deck.
- What's the difference between Owned and Optimized?
- Owned is the strongest deck the composer can build using only cards in your collection. Optimized is the same deck, but the composer is allowed to pull from a curated list of staples; cards swapped in are tagged "Replaces X" so you can see what the upgrade is and how much it costs.
- How do snapshots work?
- Save a snapshot from the saved-deck page to bookmark its current state. Restore any snapshot to roll the deck back. Snapshots are per-deck and named — you control when you take them.
- What happens when I rebuild?
- Rebuild re-runs the composer using the deck's saved commander and archetypes plus your latest collection state. The current owned and optimized decks are replaced. We strongly recommend snapshotting first if you want a way back. Edition preferences and custom land/ramp/draw/removal targets are not stored on saved decks, so the rebuild uses defaults.
- Where do prices come from?
- Scryfall. Each card's price is refreshed on access if it's older than 24 hours, so the valuation you see on a deck reflects fresh data without waiting on a batch job. Prices are USD non-foil unless we have to fall back to foil. The valuation card on each saved deck breaks out total / owned / missing.
- What about my data?
- Your collection, decks, and account live in our database. Auth is cookie-based (httpOnly), and we never expose card lists across users. Delete your account from /profile to remove everything in one click.
- Is this free?
- Yes. No paid tier, no ads. The site exists to scratch our own itch.
